NYC Disability Pride Parade

Your school community is invited to join the NYC Disability Pride Parade in marching for disability pride, inclusion, and advocacy! We’re looking for students, staff, and families excited to represent their schools and communities at the 11th annual NYC Disability Pride Parade on: Sunday, October 18, 2026, FROM 10AM - 2PM, celebrating this year’s theme, “Together We Build.” Please see the attached flyer!
Students, families, educators, and advocates from across the city will come together to celebrate disability history, culture, advocacy, and inclusion while looking toward a more accessible future. The parade will span 8–10 blocks, from Madison Square Park to Union Square (26th Street between 5th Ave and Madison) showcasing the creativity, resilience, and strength of the disability community.

Want to do more than march during the parade?
We encourage all schools to participate in the Disability Pride Parade Project at your school! Everyone is welcome; classes from all grades can take part!

We invite schools and students to choose a moment in disability history to research and create posters, signs, stickers, banners, or other artwork to carry while marching or use to cheer from the sidelines. These creative expressions will help bring the parade to life. Please bring them with you to the event as we come together to celebrate disability history, advocacy, and inclusion!

Additional details about parade logistics, meeting points, and guidelines will be shared with your school Parade Point Person. We look forward to celebrating with you and being part of a powerful event that honors disability history while showcasing the strength, creativity, and voices of our community.
