Sharing South Asian movement at the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute (OSAI)
For one week this June, we were honored to be a part of the faculty at the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute (OSAI). Ajna Director and two of our talented teaching artists spent the week introducing high school students to Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Garba, Bhangra and Bollywood dance. This prestigious arts intensive allowed us to share South Asian dance and culture with passionate high school students. The Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute (OSAI) is an intensive 2-week residential academy that provides professional training to artistically advanced Oklahoma High School Students, including graduating seniors, in the visual, literary, and performing arts. OSAI is tuition-free for every accepted student, ensuring Oklahoma’s most talented high school artists have access to arts education of the highest caliber, regardless of financial means.

Kids Bollywood & Kathak Classes - Fall Registration Now Open
Our Kids Kathak & Bollywood classes in Park Slope, Brooklyn return Sunday, September 7. The fall 2025 session is open for registration and includes Bollywood Levels 1, 2, 3 and beginner Kathak.

Join Ajna for a 60 minute interactive kids workshop in New York’s Bryant Park. In this colorful, energetic dance workshop, kids will learn fun moves inspired by South Asian styles like Bollywood, classical, folk and more! No experience needed — just bring your smile and dancing feet!

Join Ajna for an exciting Bollywood dance workshop at the Playground for All Children in Pelham Bay Park! We'll be under the gazebo, ready to explore the expressive styles of Bollywood. No experience or registration is necessary.

Saturday, July 19: Dances of India Workshop at Mineola Memorial Library
Join Ajna Dance Company at Mineola Memorial Library for the Dances of India Workshop. Enjoy a vibrant celebration of Indian culture through movement and storytelling.
The event features an introduction to Indian dance, movement, and culture focusing on three different styles with a dynamic, engaging, educational, and interactive presentation. This will be followed up with a live, interactive Bollywood and Bhangra dance workshop.
